Shapeshift
La collection explore les apparences androgynes au-delà de la norme sexuée qu’elle propose, mais déconstruit plutôt ses caractéristiques hybrides et déroutantes. Lorsque l’on dessine pour cette figure, il apparait évident qu’elle est en réalité une figure mythique : il s’agit d’une histoire traditionnelle qui explique un phénomène social autour du genre, mais qui reste un récit symbolique. Par conséquent, la garde-robe intime et personnelle que je propose se plonge dans un “monde mythique” où l’apparence androgyne est inspirée par des créatures aux formes animales qui représentent des icônes de l’hybridation. J’espère proposer de nouvelles formes et façons de s’habiller qui incarnent l’androgynie telle que je la vois et la ressens, transformant ainsi le regard que nous portons sur l’androgynie.
The collection explores androgynous appearances beyond the gendered norm it proposes but instead deconstructs its hybrid and confusing characteristics. When designing for an androgyne, it becomes clear that such a figure is mythical: it is a traditional story explaining a social phenomenon around gender, but it remains a symbolic narrative. Hence, the intimate and personal wardrobe that I propose immerses itself in a “myth-world” where the androgynous appearance is inspired by animal-like shapeshifting creatures who stand as icons of hybridization. I hope to offer new shapes and ways of dressing that embody androgyny as I see and feel it, thus transforming the way we look at androgyny.
